Orientation/Deacon Update
Hey! Its October, and I haven’t really updated since the beginning of August. - - -

Class of 2008

This was a picture of my class taken at the end of our yearly retreat in Rocca di Papa.
This year, we were allowed to take walks off the campus. I chose to hike up one of the nearby hills and saw some beautiful vistas - I did not bring a camera with me. Unfortunately, I am unable to share pictures with you. Fortunately, there was a hail storm that I got caught in when I was there and the camera wouldn’t have done to well in its midst. - - - The New Men are concluding their retreat as I type. They have had some beautiful weather for pray and reflection. It will be a very memorable retreat for them because it the first time they are able to ‘be still’ and rest in the Lord for a extended time since arriving. We kept them busy for the first few week - actually, busy is an understatement. Please keep them in your prayers! - - - This next week, on Thursday the 6th, Bishop Wuerel of Pittsburgh will be ordaining 21 men from the College as transitional deacons. This will take place at the Altar of the Chair in St. Peter’s. If you are new to my site, take a look at the photos from the past October to get an idea of the beauty of this celebration. I mention this as to ask prayers for these men as they take make their promises to Christ and His Church. - - - Priests and bishops from all over the world converging in Rome for the Synod to end the Year of the Eucharist. It will begin this Sunday, October 2nd, with a Papal Mass. At the end of the month, , both the synod and the Year of the Eucharist, will be brought to a close. My pray for you is that you continue to deepen you relationship with Christ in the Eucharist, even beyond the set ‘year.’ Every Sunday is a day set aside especially for this, but please continue to participate in daily mass and in a weekly time of Adoration.

World Youth Day was great! Sorry I haven’t posted. We are in the midst of orienting 42 “New Men.” In the meantime, enjoy a video of the Holy Father greeting the College.
