November 2005

I want to begin by thanking everyone for their prayers and support. Sometimes people have sent ‘care packages’ to me here in Rome. They are forever welcome. However, I’m quickly realizing the need for good theology books and scripture resources (although cookies and candy are also enjoyable). Therefore, I have made a “wish list” on Amazon.com - where anyone can easily order books that will be sent directly to Rome. No sweat. I thank those who have already found the link and sent me a few of the books. It will remain in the right hand column.

In the month of November, Benedict XVI will pray for the sanctification of spouses in the ordinary conditions of life. The Apostleship of Prayer announced the Pope’s prayer intentions for the month. Thousands of faithful worldwide join their own prayers and sacrifices to the Holy Father’s for the same intention. The general intention for the month is “That married people may imitate the example of conjugal holiness shown by so many couples in the ordinary conditions of life.” Every month the Pope also prays for a missionary intention, which will be “That pastors of mission territories may recognize with constant care their duty to foster the permanent formation of their own priests.”
